Startup Lab attended one of the largest startup festivals in the world

One of the world’s most spectacular startup festivals, Slush 2021, took place in Helsinki on December 1-2. During these two days, the world’s leading startup entrepreneurs and specialists gave awesome speeches and inspired young entrepreneurs. Nearly 1,000 investors were present.

The Startup Lab visited the festival with team PetLog, the winner of the Kaleidoskoop Spring 2021 pitching competition, for whom it was an award trip. The first day opening was overwhelming, and after that well-known startup entrepreneurs and specialists performed on four stages, sharing their experiences and presenting future trends. There were also speeches on the second day which ended with a striking party. Slush took place at Helsinki Messukeskus. In total there were around 8,800 people and 130 speakers, including Bolt co-founder and CEO Markus Villig, and Wize co-founder Taavet Hinrikus.

For the Petlog team, it was a crazy experience that gave them new contacts and inspiration on idea development. “Slush is definitely a place that every startup should visit. The PetLog team is very grateful and happy that we had such a wonderful opportunity!” added Kaisa, co-founder of Petlog.

For Martti Saarme, the Communication and Marketing Specialist at Startup Lab, it was the first time visiting Slush and he had a great experience. “During these two days, I got a lot of interesting ideas on where the startup world is moving. The idea that the future is the era of green technology in both the energy and food industries was the most memorable,” Saarme added.

The Slush visit was supported by the Edu&Tegu entrepreneurship program.
